Answer:

There are 7 children and 3 apples. With only 4 cuts, how can you make sure that everyone gets even parts of the apples?

I have some thoughts on this, I wish I didn't. I'm gonna be thinking about apples all evening! Okay lets start. Now to be clear, the ultimate aim is for 7 children to get even parts of the apples. Now for one thing, it would be very easy to assume that all three apples have to be used. Nope, nothing here about that, so that gives us some room for maneuvre in not having to meet yet another parameter. In fact, how they are cut has also been left open in that the angle of approach to the apple has been left unrestricted and the cutting action from the knife also unspecified. For instance, we could have two apples lined up and then stab down on them, ending up with both apples being part sliced in just the one cutting motion. But that's not good, because leaving those parameters open could leave us hostage to endless possibilities!! Particularly in my case if I forget I'm meant to be slicing apples.

Tell you what, let's play it cool and not go there today, I mean I don't wanna literally go crazy.

And back to boring now; cutting also does not equate with pieces. With just one cut, you actually can have zero pieces, that is if the action stops short of full distance. Okay enough!!
