(C) Concave, plane and convex

We find that the child's image in the magic

mirror has:-

1. Head bigger and hence the mirror must be a concave mirror. A concave mirror here is producing an enlarged and erect mirror.

2. The middle portion unaltered and hence the middle part of the mirror must be a plane mirror.

3. The bottom part of the mirror produces a smaller image of the legs. The image is smaller since it is produced by a convex mirror. The convex mirror produced the erect and diminished image.

Hey!

Question!

A child is standing in front of a magic mirror. She finds the image of her head bigger, the middle portion of her body of the same size and that of the legs smaller. The following is the order of combinations for the magic mirror from the top.

(a) Plane, convex and concave❌

(b) Convex, concave and plane❌

(c) Concave, plane and convex ✔

(d) Convex, plane and concave❌

Reason for selecting answer!

As it was given ,

  • Child's Head bigger so enlarged view was there . Therefore , we came to the answer concave! [As concave mirror produce an enlarged and erect mirror]

  • The child's middle portion unaltered . Therefore , we came to the answer plane!

  • The bottom part produces smaller image of the legs . Therefore , we came to the answer convex . [As , convex mirror produce the erect and diminished image]
