a child perfoms an experiment in the feild related to the percentage of water absorbed by the soil in the field. he took 80gm of soil sample from the field and poured 140ml of water from the measuring cylender. he poured the water till the water start dripping . the measured amount now left i. the measuring cylinder is 100ml. find the percentage of water absorbed by the given soil sample.

It is loss of water/ original amount of water ×100 so answer is
(140-100)/140×100
=40/140×100
=28.57% (ans.)
