Given,

length of chord = 16cm

radius = 10cm

Now,

We apply - h²=p²+b²

Here we take half of chord i.e. 8cm

=(10)²= p²+8²

= p²= 100-64

= p=√36

=p=6cm

Hence, the distance is 6cm.
