A circle and a rectangle have the same perimeter. The sides of the rectangle are 18 cm and 26 cm .what is the area of the circle?

Given that Perimeter of rectangle= Perimeter of circle

⇒ $2(l+b)=2{\pi}r$

⇒ $2(18+26)=2{\times}{\pi}{\times}r$

⇒ $44={\pi}r$

⇒ $r=\frac{44{\times}7}{22}=14 cm$

Then, Area of circle= ${\pi}r^{2}$

= $14{\times}14{\times}\frac{22}{7}$

= $616cm^{2}$
