radius of the circle =3 cm.
diameter of the circle =2×radius
=(2×3) cm
=6 cm
diameter of the circle =diagonal of the square
diagonal of the square =6 cm

let the side of the square be a.
by Pythagoras theorem,
a²+a²=6²
2a²=36
a²=36/2
a²=18
a=root 18

area of the square =(side)²
=a²
=(root 18)²
=18 sq cm
