A circle with centre O and radius r is drawn. Write coordinates of points where it meets the axes. Also write the equation of AC and BD. Find its radius also.​

Answer:

This is a very simple question. First see the figure. Look carefully at the center O. Also, look at the points B, D, A and C.

The coordinates means x axis and the y axis.

Look at point D first. It meets the x-axis at 2 and you know that the value of y -axis on x-axis is 0. So ,the coordinate of point D is (2,0).

Similarly, the coordinate of B is (-2,0).

The coordinates of point A is (0,2), since the value of x- axis on y -axis is 0.

The coordinates of point C is ( 0,-2).

The circle meets the axes only at 4 points A,B,C and D. The coordinates of A (0,2), B(-2,0) , C(0,-2) , D( 2,0).

Equation of AC is x = 0 and equation of BD is y =0.

The radius of the circle is 2 units since the distance of point D, point A, point B and point C form the center is 2 units only.
