Question :-
A circuit has a fuse of 5 ampere what is maximum number of 110 watt 220 volt bulb that can be safely used in the circuit?
Answer :-
- 10 bulbs can be used safely in the circuit.
Given :-
- Power, P = 110 W
- Voltage, V = 220 V
- Current , l = 5 A
To Find :-
- Number of bulbs which can be used ??
Solution :-
Let x bulbs can be used safely .
Now,
Power of 1 bulb = 110 W
So,
- Power of x bulbs ( P ) = 110 × x watts
- potential difference ( V ) = 220 volts
- Current ( l ) = 5 amperes
we all know that
- P = V × l
where,
- P = power
- V = potential difference
- l = Current
Putting all the values in the above formula , we get
⇒ 110 × x = 220 × 5
⇒ x = 220 × 5 / 110
⇒ x = 10
Hence, 10 bulbs can be used safely in the circuit.
