A circuit has a line of 4 A. How many bulbs of rating 50 W and 200 V can run safely on this line?​

Solution :-

As per the given data ,

• Maximum amount of current that can run safely on the line = 4 A
• Power of the bulb = 50 W
• Voltage of the source = 200 V

First let us find the current required by a single bulb ,

As per the formula ,

P = VI

I = P / V

Now let us substitute the given values in the above equation ,

I = 50 / 200

I = 0.25 A

Current required to run one bulb = 0.25 A

No of bulbs that can run at 4 A = 4 / 0.25 = 16  

Hence ,

16 bulbs of rating 50 W and 200 V can run safely on this line
