In the given circuit , all the resistors are connected in the series combination. therefore, current flowing through  them is same.(Let say I)

∙ Voltage across 6 Ω resistor is 12V

We know,

          Electric current,I=resistance(R)voltage(V)

Or, I=612=2A

∙ Voltage across unknown Resistor R resistor is 6V

The current flowing through R is also 2A.

Part(A) Finding value of R

We know,

According to Ohm law, V=IR

Or Resistance ,R=IV=26=3Ω

here,

Requivalent=R1+R2

Requivalent=3+6=9Ω

Hence Equivalent resistance is =9Ω

Part(B) Calculate Reading of the ammeter.

Ammeter is a device which is used to measure Electric current in the circuit,

Hence reading =2A

Part(C) In series combination, Potential of the battery is always equals to the, sum of the potential difference across all the resistors which are connected in series combination.
