☯ Given Height and slant height of a circular

cone is 17 mm and 21 mm respectively.

☯ We have to find,

  • Volume
  • TSA of cone

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Here we have,

  • Height of cone = 17 mm
  • Slant height of cone = 21 mm

We know that,

l² = h² + r²

➟ 21² = 17² + r²

➟ 441 = 289 + r²

➟ r² = 441 - 289

➟ r² = 152

➟ √r² = √152

➟ r = 12.32 mm

Therefore,

i) Volume of cone

★ Formula to find Volume of cone = 1/3 πr²h

Now, Putting values,

➯ 1/3 × π × (12.32)² × 17

➯ 1/3 × π × 152 × 17

861.33 π cm³ (approx.)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

ii) Total surface area of cone

★ Formula to find TSA of cone = πr(r + l)

Now, Putting values,

➯ π × 12.32(12.32 + 21)

➯ π × 12.32(33.32)

410.50 π cm² (approx.)

∴ Volume and TSA of cone is 861.33 π cm³ and 410.50 π cm² respectively.
