The angular velocity of the disc is  ω2  = 8 rad^-1.

Explanation:

We are given with angular velocity of 10 rad.

Solution:

r2 = r2/2

Now find out the moment of inertia.

I = Mr1^2/2

I2 = Mr2^2/2 = Mr1^2/8

Since there is no external torque so conservation of angular momentum is valid.

I1ω1 = I2ω2 => Mr1^2/2 x 10

                   = (MR1^2/8 + Mr1^2/2) x ω2

           ω2  = 8 rad^-1

Thus the angular velocity of the disc is  ω2  = 8 rad^-1
