Step-by-step explanation:

to find the area of circular road we need to subtract area of smaller circular from the larger circular portion

area of circular garden has to be deducted from the area of circular garden with road

we get a ring shaped road

with outer radius = 16m

inner radius = 12m

area of ring =

 = \pi( {(r1)}^{2} - {(r)}^{2} ) \\ = \frac{22}{7} ( {16}^{2} - {12}^{2} ) \\ = \frac{22}{7} (256 - 144) \\ = \frac{22}{7} \times 112 \\ = 22 \times 16 \\ = 352sqm

cost of metalling the road Rs. 600/m

total cost of metalling

= 352 × 600

= 211600

therefore the cost of metalling = Rs. 2,11,600
