4×11=44cm
Circumference of circle = 44 cm
2×pie×radius = 44
Radius= 7 cm
Diameter = 2× radius
Diameter = 14 cm

Given : A circular piece of thin wire is converted into a rhombus of side 11 cm.

To find : The diameter of the circular piece.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the value the diameter of the given circular piece)

Now, we know that :

Perimeter of a rhombus = 4 × Side

By, putting the available data in the question in the above mentioned mathematical formula, we get :

Perimeter of the given rhombus = 4 × 11 = 44 cm

In this case,

Perimeter of the rhombus = The circumference of the circular piece

(As, the wire length is constant throughout the shape conversion process.)

So,

The circumference of the circular piece = 44 cm

Let, the diameter of the circular piece = D cm

So, the circumference of the circular piece will be :

= π × (Diameter)

= (π × D) cm

By, comparing the two values of the circumference of the circle, we get :

π × D = 44

(22/7) × D = 44

D = 44 × (7/22)

D = 14

So, the diameter of the circular piece = D cm = 14 cm

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the diameter of the circular piece is 14 cm.
