A circular rug of diameter 1.4m is spotted in the center with 20cm striped border. Find the area of the striped portion of the rug to the nearest cm square

area of outer circle- area of inner circle
first given that outer circle has diameter of 1.4 m
so radius will be 70 cm
now area =pie.r2
                   =22/7*70*70
                 =22*10*70
               =15400cm2
now radis of inner circle will 70cm-20cm=50cm
now area of  circle willbe
=22/7*50*50
=22*7.14*50
=7857.14cm2
now are of stripes portion of the carpet = area of outer circle -area of inner circle
                                                             =15400-7857.14cm2
                                                            =7548.86cm2
