A circus tent is cylinderical upto a height of 3m and conical above it.If the diameter of the base is 105m and slant height of conical part is 53m. Find total canvas used in making tent.

r=105/2
H=3
h=53
Tsa of canvas used = csa of cylinder + csa of cone
Put the values u will get the answer.

given that
in the cylinder
height = 3 m
radius = 105/2 m
CSA of the cylinder = 2πr(r+h)
in the cone
slant height = 53 m
radius = 105/2 m
CSA of the cone = πrl
TSA of the tent = CSA of the cylinder + CSA of the cone
= 2πr(r+h) +πrl
= πr[2(55.5)+53]
= πr[111+53]
= πr[164]
= 22/7 ×105 164
= 2460 cm²
it need the 2460 cm² cloth
