Answer:

The Length of the canvas required to make tent is 1947 m

Step-by-step explanation:

SOLUTION :

Given :

Diameter of cylinder and cone = 105 m

Radius of cylinder and cone ,r = 105/2 m = 52.5 m

Height of a cylindrical part ,h = 3 m

Slant height of a conical portion, l = 53 m

Width of a Canvas = 5 m

Curved surface area of circus tent = πrl + 2πrh

= πr(l + 2h)

= 22/7 × 52.5 (53 + 2 × 3)

= 22 × 7.5 ×(53 + 6)

= 165 × 59 = 9735 m²

Curved surface area of circus tent = 9735 m²

Length of the canvas required to make tent = Area of canvas/width of canvas = 9735/5 = 1947 m

Hence, the Length of the canvas required to make tent is 1947 m
