Answer:

hi brother

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume the tank empties in x hours

So the per hour emptying rate is 1/x

So, per hour

Fill - empty = actual fill

(1/6)-(17x)=1/10

1/x=1/6 - 1/10

1/x = 1/15

X = 15 hours

Answer:

12 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

The cistern without leak is filled fully in 4 hours

Part of cistern filled without leak in 1 hour = \frac{1}{4}

Time taken to fill the cistern with leak = 4 + 2 = 6 hours

Part of cistern filled with leak in 1 hours = \frac{1}{6}

Part of cistern emptied due to leak in 1 hour = \frac{1}{4} -\frac{1}{6}=\frac{3-2}{12} =\frac{1}{12}

Therefore, total time to empty the cistern = 12 hours
