Answer:-

  • The capacity of the cistern is 8640 L.

Given:-

  • A cistern has a leak in the bottom is filled in 15 hours.

Need to find :-

  • If the cistern is full, the leak and empty it in?

Explanation:-

Part filled in 1 hour  =  \frac{1}{8}  -  \frac{1}{12}  =  \frac{1}{24}

➠Time taken to fill the cistern = 24 hours

➠ Water moved in 24 hour = 6 × 24 × 60

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀= 8640 L

  • Hence, capacity of the cistern is 8640 L.
