Number of total students = 40

Votes for Candidate A = 12 votes

Votes for Candidate B = 18 votes

Remaining students who did not vote =
40 - ( 12+18 ) = 40 - 30 = 10

% of students who voted for Candidate A :
12 / 40 × 100 = 30%

percent of voters should be calculated on the total votes done
so total votes done =12+18=30
so Percent of A =
 \frac{12}{30} \times 100 = \frac{1200}{30} = 40\%
hope it helps mark it brainliest plz plz plz plz plz plz
