a clinical thermometer cannot be used for measuring temperature. why

Clinical thermometers have low temperature measuring capacity nearly from 34°C-40°C where as water boils at 100°C which is quite high temperature as compared to our body's normal temperature. So if we put clinical thermometer in hot water then it will melt.

Clinical thermo meter can do only our body temperature because it has only 30 -40 degrees
