The correct time is (b) 2.15 pm on the 4th.

Given: A clock, which loses uniformly is 15 minutes fast at 9 am on 3rd of the December and is 25 minutes less than the correct time at 3 pm on 6th of the same month.

To Find: At what time it was correct

Solution:

The clock loses 15 mins uniformly from 9 am on 3rd December to 3 pm on 6th December = 3 days + 6 hours = 78 hours

The clock losses in 78 hours = 15 + 25 = 40 minutes

Therefore, the clock losses 15 minutes = 15/40× 78 = 29 hours and 15 minutes.

Therefore, the clock is correct after 29 hours and 15 minutes from 9 am on 23rd December which is 2:15 pm on 4th December.

Hence, the correct time is (b) 2.15 pm on 4th
