Answer:

5 sec

Explanation:

s = 100 m

u = 40 m/s

v = 0 m/ s

a = ?

t = ?

First we find (a) by

v² - u² = 2as

=> 0² - 40² = 2× a×100

=> -1600 = 200a

=> a = -8 m/s²

Now we find (t) by

v = u + at

=> O = 40 + (-8)t

=> -40 = -8t

=> t = 5s
