a closed box is made up of wood which is 1cm thick.The outer dimension of the the box is (5cm)(4cm)(7cm).find the volume of the wood used.

external length=5cm,breadth=4cm,height=7cm

internal length=3cm,breadth=2cm,height=5cm

volume of wood used =volume of external- volume of internal

=5×4×7-3×2×5

140cm cube-30cm cube

=110cm cube
