Answer:

Capacity of box = 39600 cm^3

Volume of wood used = 25920 cm^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume= Length x Breadth x Height

First find the Total Volume of the box for which the condition is:-

 Length = 56cm

 Breadth = 39cm

 Height = 30cm

Volume = 56cm x 39cm x 30cm = 65520cm^3

Then find the volume of inner box as it will be equal to the capacity of the box. For which the length, breadth and height will be 6 cm less than the given length, breadth and height bcoz the thickness of the wood is 3 cm and the thickness will cover 3 cm from both the sides....

So the condition to find the volume of inner box is :-

Length = 56-6 = 50cm

Breadth = 39-6= 33cm

Height = 30-6 = 24cm

Volume for Inner box = 50 x 33 x 24 = 39600 cm^3 , which is equal to the capacity of the box.

To find the volume of wood used is to subtract the capacity of box from total volume of box :-

The volume of wood used = Total volume of box - The capacity of box

                                            = 65520 cm^3 -  39600 cm^3

                                            = 25920 cm^3.....
