\large\underline\pink{Given:-}

  • A closed wooden box 80 CM long 65 cm wide and 45 CM high, made of 2.5 cm thick wood.

\large\underline\pink{To find:-}

  • Find the capacity of the box and it's weight if 100 cubic of wood weight 8 grams. ....?

\large\underline\pink{Solutions:-}

  • External length = 80cm
  • External width = 65cm
  • External height = 45cm

External volume of the box = l × w × h

= 80 × 65 × 45

= 234000cm³

Thickness of the wood = 2.5cm

Then,

  • Internal length = 80 × (2.5 × 2) = 75cm
  • Internal width = 65 × (2.5 × 2) = 60cm
  • Internal height = 45 × (2.5 × 2) = 40cm

Capacity of the box = internal volume of the box

= l × w × h

= 75 × 60 × 40

180000cm³

Volume of the wood = External volume - Internal volume

= 234000 - 180000 cm³

= 54000cm³

given that,

100 cm³ of wood weight 8g.

weight of the wood

= 54000/100 × 8 g

= 54 × 8 g

= 4320 g.

Hence, the weight of the wood is 4320 g
