(a) The bulb lights due to the mutual induction. That is, an emf is produced in a conductor, when the magnetic flux linked with it changes.
(b) When the bulb is moved towards the left side, the magnetic flux linked with the coil Q reduces, as a result, the induced emf also reduces.
