A coin is at the bottom of a water tank of depth 50 cm. if refractive index of water is 4/3 then find out the apparent position
and normal shift of the coin.

Answer:

refractive index =real depth/apparent depth

4/3=50/apparent depth

apparent depth =50×3/4=37.5 cm

the height by which it appears to be raised is

50-37.5=12.5cm

so your answer is 12.5 cm
