Answer:

During high fever, the internal body temperature of a person is very high. High temperature may effect the brain. Thus, to reduce body temperature, a cold compress is placed on the forehead. there is a cooling sensation as the moisture evaporates. It feels good to the patient though it does very little to lower body temperature. It’s better to take an over the counter fever reducer.

Before I answer this question, let me clarify some terms:

Equilibrium

The maintenance of balance of a quantity is known as the equilibrium of that body. For example, when there is a difference between the water levels in beakers connected with a tube, the water from higher concentration flows into the beaker with lower concentration to maintain the water levels

Now,with this out of the way,let us analyse the question:

Generally, when a person is suffering from fever, the heat quotient in his body would be more.

Thus, when you place a cold compress on his forehead the heat is observed and the result is the ice melts due to the absorbed heat

So,the temperature of the ill body decreases
