Hello!

Here is the answer for your question!

Question:-  A company packages its milk powder in cylindrical

container whose base has a diameter of 14 cm and height

20 cm. Company places a label around the surface of

the container (as shown in the figure). If the label is placed

2 cm from top and bottom, what is the area of the label.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:-

  • Diameter of the cylinder = 14cm

Radius of the cylinder = 7 cm (which is radius of label)

  • height of the label

20 - (2+2) = 16 cm   (as the label is placed  2cm from top and bottom)

Radius of the label = 14cm

Height of the label = 16cm

  • Area of the label = CSA of cylinder

            = 2πrh

            = 2 × \frac{22}{7} × 7 × 16

            = 44 × 16

            = 704 cm²

Area of the label is 704cm²

------------------------------------------------------------------

Hope this helped you with your doubt :)

Radius of the label = 14cm

Height of the label = 16cm

Area of the label = CSA of cylinder

            = 2πrh

× 7 × 16

\frac{22}{7}

2 ×

=

            = 704 cm²

Area of the label is 704cm²
