answer : 24g/mol

explanation : a/c to question, 3 atoms of the metal combine with 2 atoms of the nitrogen.

so, chemical formula of compound = M_3N_2

then molecular mass of compound = 3M + 2 × 14 = (3M + 28)

[ atomic mass of Nitrogen = 14g/mol]

again, it is given that M3N2 contains 28% nitrogen and 72% metal by mass.

so, percentage mass of nitrogen = mass of nitrogen/(mass of compound) × 100

or, 28 = 28/(3M + 28) × 100

or, 3M + 28 = 100

or, 3M = 72

or, M = 24

hence, atomic mass of metal is 24 g/mol.
