A compound exists in thegaseous state both as monomer (A) and dimer (A2
) .The molecular weight of
the monomer is 48. In an experiment, 96 g of thecompound was confined in a vessel of volume 33.6 Iitres
and heated to 273°C. Calculate the pressure developed, if the compound exists as a dimer to the extent
of 50% by weight under this condition, assuming that temperature does not affect the physical state of
the dimer.
