A microscope is an instrument used to view objects or specimens which cannot be seen by the naked eye. It magnifies the object many folds with the help of lens. A simple microscope is the one which has only one lens or lens system such as a magnifying glass or hand lens. A compound microscope has multiple two system of lenses to collect light from source which may be sunlight or an electrical bulb. It also has separate set of lenses to focus the light into the eye or camera to view the object more clearly. They are heavier, larger and more expensive than simple microscopes due to the more number of lenses used in construction.
