Given -

Normal Molecular masses are 65.6 & 164 .

Solutions  -

Ionization reaction is :-

                            Mx₂→M²⁺ + 2 X⁻

We know that ,

For finding the value of i ,

                                     i  =

\frac{164}{65.6}

                                     i = 2.5

∴                  i  = 1 + 2α    (from eq. (i)

                 2.5 = 1+  2α

 Hence,    α  =  0.75
