Answer:

focal length in concave mirror is negative

the object distance =1/u = 1/v-1/f

= 1/-35-1/(-10)

= -(7-2)/ 70

= -5/ 70

= -14

The distance between wall and the object is 21 cm.

Given:

Focal length = f = 10 cm

Object distance = v = 35 cm

Explanation:

The mirror formula is given as:

1/f = 1/v + 1/u

1/u = 1/f - 1/v

On substituting the values, we get,

1/u = -1/10 + 1/35

1/u = -1/14

∴ u = -14 cm

The distance between the wall and the object is:

d = 35 cm - 14 cm

∴ d = 21 cm
