A concentrated solution contains 8% salt. How many liters of this solution does mary need to add to a 24l solution of 4% salt in order to obtain a 6% salt solution

24+ X

Since all the salt solutions are given in percentage form,

0.08x + 0.04 * 24 = 0.06 * (24+X)

On solving the above equation you get,

X= 24L

Another direct method was that since the the mean of 8% and 4% is 6% ....equal amount of 8% solution should be added to get 6% salt solution ....
