Given :

A conductor has resistance of 15 ohm at 10 degree C and 18 ohm at 400 degree C .

To Find :

The temperature coefficient of resistance of material .

Solution :

We know , variation of resistance with temperature is given by :

R=R_o(1+\alpha(T_f-T_i))

Here , R_o=15\ \Omega

Putting all vales in above equation , we get :

18=15(1+\alpha(400-10))\\\\\alpha=\dfrac{1}{390}\times (\dfrac{18}{15}-1)\\\\\alpha=5.13\times 10^{-4}\ ^oC^{-1}

Hence , this is the required solution .
