The drift velocity will become 1/3rd of original velocity.
Given - Length
Find - New drift velocity
Solution - The drift velocity and length are directly proportional to each other.
V1/V2 = l2/l1
Keep the values in formula
V1/V2 = 3L/L
Cancelling L on RHS
V1/V2 = 3/1
V2 = V1/3
Hence, the drift velocity be 1/3rd of the original drift velocity.
