Answer:

Step 1

40 cm long wooden cube means that the side of the cube is 40cm.

Step 2

A cone having the max. Volume. will have it''s Base diameter as 40 cm and height 40 cm.

Step 3

Vol. of cone = [1/3]\pi[(r^2)×h]

Vol of the cone =(1/3)×(22/7)×(20×20)×40

=16755.16

Question :---

a cone of maximum volume is cut out from a 40 cm long wooden cube . Calculate the volume of the cone . ?

Concept used :----

when cone is cut out from cube, than side of cube becomes height of cone and as well as diameter of cone .

Solution :----

it is given that height of cube is 40cm.

So, Height of cone = 40cm

→ Radius of cone = 40/2 = 20cm .

putting values in formula now,

→ Volume of cone = 1/3 π * r² * h

→ Volume = 1/3 * π * (20)² * 40

→ Volume = (16000π/3) cm³

Hence, volume of Required cone will be (16000π/3)cm³ .
