A constable chases a thief in a jeep, who is 100m away from him. if the speed of the constable is 30 m/s and that of the thief is 25 m/s. then how much distance would the thief have travelled before he was caught

The difference between the police and the thief is 100m....
When the thief cover 100m the difference between them becomes 80...Similarly after 500 m the police catch the thief..
Answer is 500m
