The helmet 1st goes down.So the sound will take distance.

S =1/2gt^2

78.4=1/2 ×10× t^2

t=3.9 =4 (approx )

d=s × t

78.4 = s × 3.9 =20.1 m/s

or

78.4=s ×4 = 19.6 m/s.
