Step-by-step explanation:

water in 20 lit= 20*7/12=140/12

milk in 20 lit= 20*5/12=100/12

assume A lit of second mixture is added.

water - a*7/16

milk= a*9/16

as water and milk are in 1:1 ratio

(a*7/16)+140/12=(a*9/16)+100/12

A = 80/3= 26.66 lit
