A container holds 50.0 mL of nitrogen at 298 K. What will be its volume if the temperature increases to 550 K at the same pressure.

Given,

Volume 1 (V₁) = 50 mL

Temperature 1 (T₁) = 298 K

Temperature 2 (T₂) = 550 K

By Charles's law,

V₁/T₁ = V₂/T₂

= 50/298 = V₂/550

= 50*550/298 = V₂

= 9.22 mL = V₂
