Given:

a contract has been given to a contractor to build a wall of 128m around a rectangular park.

Park is having the length , L = 42 m

To Find:

Find the value of the breadth.

Solution:

total length of the wall = 128m

Length of the park , L = 42 m

Let the breadth of the park be B.

wall will surround the boundary of the park, means it will cover the complete perimeter of the park, It will cover two lengths and two breadths.

and we know that the perimeter of the rectangular field is given by,

P = 2 ( Length + Breadth)

P  = 2 ( L +B)

128 = 2 (42 + B)

128/2 = 42 + B

64 = 42+ B

B = 62-42

B=22 m

Hence the value of the breadth of the rectangular field is 22 m
