Given:-

a contractor contract his sign to finish work in 17 days with 9 workers but 2/5 work is done after 8 days.how many workers is needed to complete work on time.

To Find:-

How many workers is needed to complete work on time.

Solution:-

A contractor employed 30 men to complete a project in 60 days. But after 20 days, it is observed that only 25% of the work is completed. How many additional men does the contractor need to employ to complete the work on time?

The required work is to be done in 60 days. But the 30 workers completed 25% of work in 20 days. Therefore

The completed part of work = 25%

The completed work units = 30*20 =600

So 25% of work = 600 units

Total work =2400 units

So to complete the work in time = 40 days to complete the work

Required work units to complete =2400–600

=1800 units.

No of men required to complete 1800 units of work in 40 days = 1800÷40

=45

∴We have already 30 men. the more men required =45-30=15
