A contractor has two teams of workers: Team A and Team B. Team A can complete a job in 12 days and team B can complete the same job in 36 days. Team A starts working on the job and Team B joins team A after 4 days. the team A withdraws after two more days. for how many more days should team B work to complete the job? ​

Since A completes work in 12 days so in one day A completes (1/12)th of the work. Similarly B completes (1/36)th of a work.

So in first 4 days : A completes (4/12) = 1/3 of work.

Now in next two days A and B work together so work done together =

2 (1/12 + 1/36) = 2/9 of work

So now total work done = 1/3 + 2/9

= 5/9 of work .

So now to complete 4/9 of work : B has to work for 36×4/9 = 16 days.
