QUESTION :-

A contractor wants to set up a slide for the children to play in the park. He wants to set it up at the height of 2 m and by making an angle of 30° with the ground. What should be the length of the slide ?

SOLUTION :-

  • Height of the slide = 2 m

  • Let the length of the slide = x m

  • Angle made by the slide with the ground = 30°

From the above provided figure

sin 30° = 2/x => ½ = 2/x

.°. Length of the slide = 4 m

Hey mate !!

  • Hey mate !!Here's the answer !!

  • Refer the attachment for the diagram.

Step by step explanation :-

According to the question,

Let the Height of the slide be AB = 2 m.

Let ∠ C = 30°.

Let the length of the slide be the hypotenuse AC.

We know that Sin Ф = Opposite / Hypotenuse.

=> Sin 30° = 2 / Hypotenuse

=> 1 / 2 = 2 / Hypotenuse

=> Hypotenuse * 1 = 2 * 2

=> Hypotenuse = 4 m

Hence the length of the slide is 4 m.
