A convex lens has a focal length of 15 cm. At wat distances should the object from the lens be placed so that it forms an image at 10 cm from the lens? Also find the magnification of the lens.

Hey,
f= 15cm
v= 10cm
So,applying the formula,
1/f=1/u+1/v
1/15 = 1/u + 1/-10
1/15 = u-10/10u
10u=15u-150
-5u=150
u = -30cm.
And,
m= -v/u
m= -(-10/-30)
m= -1/3.
