Vinaynayak27: no bro
bappu83: whats the answer?
bappu83: 1/v - 1/u = 1/f ....this is lens formula ...right?
Vinaynayak27: yes bro
bappu83: ans has to be 30 or -30
Vinaynayak27: bro it supposed to be -6 cm but i am seeking the answer to match mine with them
bappu83: idk...but...Given,

focal length, f = -15 cm

Distance of image, v = -10 cm

Distance of object, u =?

We know that,

1/v - 1/u = 1/f

So,

1/-10 - 1/u = 1/-15

So, -1/10 + 1/15 = 1/u

(-3 + 2)/30 = 1/u

-1/30 = 1/u

Therefore u = -30 cm

bappu83: check this out...
bappu83: think -6cm = 30 cm....acc to fig..
