image distance (v)=50 cm

To find: Object distance (u)

Formula: 1f=1v−1u

Calculation: From formula,

125=1250−1u

∴ 1u=150−125=−150

∴ u=−50cm

The negative sign indicates that object is placed on left of the lens.
